Bishop S.C. Carthen

Currently, Bishop S.C. Carthen is the Founder and Director of the Our Family Community Foundation, a para church ministry specializing in wellness, wholeness and faith. He is also Chair of Stakeholder for the National African American Tobacco Education Network. He is currently serves as President of the National Black Clergy for Substance Abuse Prevention; and Chairperson of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Worship Celebration Committee for the Sacramento Community. He is the Public Relations Director for the United Pastors of Sacramento. In addition, he is chaplain for the National Basketball Association, Sacramento Kings.

Bishop Carthen's past accomplishments include pastoring the Family Worship Center for 19 years and being Vice President of the Board of Directors for the National Association of African Americans for Positive Imagery. Recently Bishop served on the Executive Board at Harvest Church in Elk Grove, CA. and also as President of the Advisory Board for the African American Tobacco Education Network for the State of California. He also served as Board member of the Singles Christian Outreach of Sacramento. He is a graduate of the first class for the Sacramento Police Department's Victim Volunteer Chaplaincy Program. He also served as Assistant to Bishop Earl B. Dunnum of the Western Diocese of the Church of the Living God, Pillar and Ground of Truth and as Overseer of the Northern District of California. He has received degrees and honors in the professional world including: Associate Arts Degree in Business Administration from Sacramento City College, Bachelor's Degree of Theology, and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Degree in the field of Interdenominational Service from the Mount Zion Institute and Bible Seminary. He was employed with the Department of Motor Vehicles, State of California for eleven years and ended his career as a Manager III of the Network Control Center User Help Desk. He also served as the President of the Black Employees United for Equality, which was designed to assist African Americans and minorities with upward mobility. He previously served two years as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Interfaith Service Bureau.

He is a strong advocate of worshipping with others. Due to his strong charismatic presence and dedication to the Lord, Bishop receives numerous requests to share in devotion with other churches in their special worship services or blessed occasions. He also takes the opportunity to invite and encourage other churches of all denominations to share with his church family.

Evangelist Charlene Carthen

Evangelist Charlene Carthen began preaching in 1992 and began her pastoral ministry in 1997. She is gifted in the areas of praise and worship, ministry in dance and intercessory prayer. Currently she is the Executive Assistant of the SOG Ministry and founder of DOVE Ministries for "WOMEN ONLY." They both have ministered together all across the U.S. and Bahamas.
